About the Grower
After working with his father for a decade, Balvir Chhajta planted a new Orchard in the early 90s. Over the course of 30 years, with innovative farming practices, this Orchard and the Apples produced today stand as a testament to the hard work and the monumental devotion that has been poured into them.
Maarisha, after having spent time away in Mumbai and Singapore, is gradually familiarising herself with the orchards and the cultivation practices developed over 4 decades by Mr. Chhajta.
Golden Delicious Apples
The Golden Delicious Apple is a versatile variety when it comes to taste and uses.
When freshly plucked, it’s green with a great crunch, mildly tart with an underlying sweet juiciness. At this stage, depending on your preferences, they are perfect for baking (Think Apple Pies and Crumbles) or you can bite straight into them.
As they’re allowed to ripen, if you so prefer, the skin as well as the insides, will take on a beautiful yellow hue with the apple becoming sweeter as the colour deepens.
Now you know why they’re called ‘Golden Delicious’!

- If you keep it at room temperature, the apples will continue ripening.
